Dear Myllysa, I cannot express the gratitude I have for you and the great sacrifice that you are doing on our behalf. I know this will be the most difficult thing you will ever do in your lifetime. I want you to know that I have the utmost respect for you and your decision. It is because of me, that Jess and I can’t have children the old fashioned way but because of you we are able to build our family. I can’t say enough how grateful I am for that. Jess and I have spent many days and nights crying and struggling with this and I am sure you will have many days and nights crying but as you grow closer to the Savior he will help, He will lift you up and make you stronger. I want you to know that you are part of our family now!!! I know I am not your boys father but I would love to help them in anyway I can, go to games, help with math homework, go to music lessons, anything they need. I can’t help think that your Mom and my Dad probably helped in selecting Ruby, she has such a sweet spirit about her. I promise Myllysa I will be the best dad I can be to her, provide for her and make sure she has everything she needs. I am so humbled that you chose us to be Ruby’s parents.
